Pureprint Group is a dynamic, multi-award-winning printer with a unique and long-established environmental ethos, which has earned them a national and growing global reputation for industry-leading digital, litho and large format printing facilities together with marketing collateral management services.
The company employs over 400 people throughout the UK and turns 60m. Pureprint is now one of the biggest employers in East Sussex with customers in the UK, USA and Europe, and after over 90 years, the business is still run by the same family.

With a reputation for using sustainable printing practices, Pureprint has won numerous awards in the last ten years, including the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in Sustainable Development twice. In 2018, they were nominated in nine categories at the prestigious PrintWeek Awards, winning three awards including Fine Art Printer of the Year, Brochure Printer of the Year and Point-of-Purchase Printer of the Year.
Innovation in digital printing
At Pureprint, driven by the company’s desire to offer its customers every advantage possible through physical communication media, the company has invested over £20m over the past five years in leading digital printing technology. Six HP Indigo digital presses run at the company’s Uckfield production site with their newest press being installed with high-resolution technology.
The HD technology doubles print resolution to achieve higher image smoothness using a high-definition imaging system with an additional 12 laser beams.
Constant innovation and rethinking of its methods have provided an opportunity for the company to expand into new areas which include direct mail, cross-media services, point-of-sale, creative bespoke packaging, pick and pack and storage of marketing collateral. At a time when the print industry is contracting Pureprint are defying the odds, having reached record turnover of over £60 million. They have created 41 new posts over the last four years and currently provide over 200 jobs for the local community.
Pureprint also offers apprenticeship schemes in Digital Printing, Digital Pre-Press and Digital Artwork to young people with NVQ level qualifications to be able to receive further training and experience at the company that will enable career progression. In the last three years, they have taken on three enthusiastic apprentices who have been promoted to permanent positions at the company.
The company’s international sales hit £6.8 million in 2017, boosted by growth from the US and Europe. With their figures up 69.66% on the previous year, Pureprint Group continues to expect international growth, forecasting a positive future with continued expansion. In addition to the factory in Sussex they have offices and production based around the UK: London, Somerset, Leeds, Newcastle Upon Tyne and Hemel Hempstead as well as New York which will help the company increase its product offering.
